Moab in March

Friends! I’m so excited to write this blog post. So many changes happened this last month that I feel typing it out and sharing is necessary. First of all, I kicked off March making the move to IMPOWER Real Estate. I’ve been asked a few times, why the switch? The bigger question is why not?! Some of the greatest minds in real estate work here. It’s a group of successful realtors who take ethics seriously, who care about self-improvement, and most importantly, they are a group of realtors who want to make not only the community, but the world a better place. I’m so happy to have made the move and am glad to tell clients I am part of the IMPOWER tribe!
Now, let’s talk about Moab in March.
I am so lucky to have family that visits me and it had been over a year since I had seen my sister… A YEAR!! I was extremely excited to have her visit. I had to make sure this was a special trip and I knew just the place – MOAB!

- Our amazing Airbnb in Moab. Highly recommend it! Message me for details on exact location.
Moab in March is amazing but the weather can be unpredictable. Camping crossed my mind, but what if it snowed? Also, I wanted to bring our pups, however, they aren’t allowed in Arches National Park. So I got on Airbnb and found the cutest townhome. It can sleep up to 6 comfortably and had amazing reviews. More on how great the stay was but if you want details on the exact place, send me a message and I’ll give full details. Otherwise, I want to keep it as my secret Airbnb Moab spot for as long as I can (it’s that fantastic).
We left bright and early on Saturday morning and drove straight out to Dead Horse Point State Park. It’s a slight 30-40 minutes drive out of the way but it’s absolutely worth the journey. It’s dog friendly so our pups, Chester and Amelia, could enjoy the spectacular views with us. And those canyon views, they were something else. Hands down, go to Dead Horse Point. You can plan longer hikes or just drive up and check out the views.

We made it to our fantastic townhome. The ONLY downside is that it is not directly in town and Moab doesn’t have Uber… yet. However, we found a local tour guide online that also hosts a taxi service. Tom Mitchell, with 259 Taxi & Shuttle (435-259-TAXI) provided a quick ride into the heart of downtown Moab and knew all the locals. We got the local treatment and had dinner at Fiesta Mexicana (fun fact: former first lady Laura Bush ate there). Delicious! But let me just say Mexican food anywhere in Moab is always a safe bet.
The next morning we were up bright and early and off to Arches National Park. I could write for days about how bea-utah-ful this place is but I’m sure the pictures below can speak for themselves.

Delicate Arch.
We grabbed a quick dinner on our way back to the townhouse but I’m going to go right ahead and say the only regret we have is not eating at the Moab Brewery.. it’s known throughout the town for having the best food… next time.
Now back to the townhome. This place was unbelievably cozy! We decided to keep it a chill night in the townhome and despite the wind storm and power outage we had the best time. The feeling in this town home is retreat-like and it’s equipped with everything! The wind knocked out the power but we were stocked with candles and flashlights which made this cozy condo feel even cozier. It really gave that relaxing feeling you get during a candlelight yoga session and had us saying: “What power outage?”

We ended the weekend hiking with the pups at the Corona Arch. This experience alone is why you come to Moab in March. First of all, it’s a beautiful, dog-friendly hike. Second, we got to the arch and spent about an hour just relaxing with the dogs while basking in the sun. However, the best part was that not a single person was there. We got our own private Moab experience.
Overall, I highly recommend going to Moab in March and it just confirms why so many people love to work, live, and play in this beautiful state! One quote I always love to refer to is that people “Come for the mountains and stay for the desert”. If you don’t have any weekend plans this month, just go to Moab.
